Grow92 AI publishes to Facebook and Instagram through Meta’s official APIs. That means someone has to register a Meta app and connect it to your Grow92 installation before any workspace can link its accounts. This guide is in two parts: the one-off setup for the person who runs the Grow92 server (the operator), and the connection steps for workspace Owners and Admins.
What you can publish
- Facebook: text, link, photo (single and multi-photo) and video posts to Facebook Pages you manage. Personal profiles are not supported.
- Instagram: single images, carousels (2–10 images or videos) and Reels, to Instagram Business or Creator accounts linked to a Facebook Page.
- Instagram fetches media from a public HTTPS address. Files uploaded only to Grow92 are not public unless your operator has configured public media hosting, so use media with an external https:// URL until then.
Part 1 — operator setup
- At developers.facebook.com, create a Meta app of type Business and add Facebook Login for Business.
- Add the redirect URI {API_URL}/api/oauth/facebook/callback, where {API_URL} is the public address of your Grow92 API.
- For Instagram, add the Instagram Graph API product to the same app and add the redirect URI {API_URL}/api/oauth/instagram/callback.
- Put the app’s ID and secret in META_APP_ID and META_APP_SECRET in the backend environment, then restart the API.
- Submit the app for Meta App Review. Publishing to Pages needs pages_manage_posts (Advanced Access) and publishing to Instagram needs instagram_content_publish. Until they are approved, only people with a role on the Meta app can connect.
The Social Accounts page shows a “Setup required” card with the exact redirect URI and environment variables for each platform that is not configured yet.
Part 2 — connect your accounts
- In your workspace, open Social Accounts from the sidebar. Only Owners and Admins can connect or disconnect accounts.
- Choose Connect Facebook (or Connect Instagram). You are sent to Meta to sign in and grant access.
- Select the Pages you want Grow92 AI to use. For Instagram, choose Pages that have an Instagram Business or Creator account linked to them.
- You are returned to Social Accounts, where each connected Page or Instagram account appears with what Grow92 can publish to it.
If the connection fails
- “No Facebook Pages were shared with Grow92” — run the connection again and select at least one Page you manage.
- “No Instagram Business or Creator account is linked to the Pages you selected” — link one in Meta Business Suite, then try again.
- “The platform rejected the authorization” — check the app ID, secret and redirect URI on the server.
- Connection links expire after 10 minutes and can only be used once; if one times out, simply start again.
After you connect
Access tokens are encrypted at rest. Grow92 AI refreshes tokens automatically where the platform allows; if access expires or is revoked, the account is flagged and you can select Reconnect. Disconnecting an account deletes its stored tokens — posts scheduled to auto-publish with it will fail until you reconnect or reschedule them as manual posts.
Accounts marked Demo are sample data in the demo workspace and never publish.
