What the connection does

What Grow92 does with Instagram

Grow92 uses the Instagram Graph API, through the same Meta app as Facebook, to publish approved content to Instagram professional accounts. It supports single-image posts, carousels of 2 to 10 images or videos, and Reels. Grow92 waits for Instagram to finish processing media and only marks a post as published once Instagram confirms it.

Setup

  1. Use the same Meta app as Facebook (META_APP_ID and META_APP_SECRET) and add the Instagram Graph API product.
  2. Add the Grow92 callback URL (/api/oauth/instagram/callback on your API domain) as a redirect URI.
  3. Submit the app for Meta App Review to obtain instagram_content_publish.
  4. Make sure each Instagram account is a Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook Page.
  5. Make sure post media is hosted at a public HTTPS URL that Instagram can fetch.
  6. In Grow92, open Social Accounts and connect Instagram.

Limitations

  • Personal Instagram accounts cannot publish through the API.
  • Every post needs at least one image or video; text-only posts are not possible on Instagram.
  • Media must be reachable at a public HTTPS URL. Files uploaded only to Grow92 are not public unless public media hosting is configured.
  • Stories, insights, comments and direct messages are not supported yet.

Instagram’s publishing API fetches images and videos from a URL rather than accepting a direct upload. Grow92 therefore needs each file to be available at a public HTTPS address, for example on your website or a configured media host.
