Connect your website and review the import

· 3 min read · Grow92 AI team

Your website already describes what you sell, who you sell it to and how you talk about it. Connecting it is the quickest way to give Grow92 AI something accurate to work from. This guide walks through the connection, what the scan does, and how to review the results — nothing from the scan is added to your catalog or brand profile until you approve it.

Before you start

  • You need the Owner, Admin or Editor role to connect or re-scan a website. Other roles can view the results.
  • The site must be publicly reachable over http:// or https://. Addresses that resolve to private or internal networks are refused.
  • Grow92 AI only reads public pages and respects your robots.txt. It does not log in, submit forms or change anything on your site.
  • Ownership verification is not yet available, so please only connect websites you are responsible for.

Connect the website

  1. Open Website & Brand from the sidebar (under Business).
  2. Choose Connect your website and enter your homepage address, for example yourbusiness.com.
  3. Optionally add your business name and a business category. Leave the category on “Detect automatically” if you want Grow92 AI to decide.
  4. Select Connect website. The scan starts straight away and usually finishes in under a minute.

Changing the business category for the whole workspace changes catalog labels and item fields, so only Owners and Admins can do it.

What the scan does

The progress panel shows the real stage of the scan: validating the address, discovering pages (robots.txt, sitemap and internal links), extracting titles, descriptions and structured data, finding your catalog items, analysing brand details, and finally preparing the review by checking for duplicates already in your catalog.

To keep scans quick and polite, Grow92 AI reads a limited number of pages per scan (currently up to 25) and prioritises the ones most likely to describe products, services or listings. Items are detected from page content and structured data such as JSON-LD. If AI is configured on your installation, brand details and descriptions are also refined with AI from your website text; otherwise they are extracted directly from the pages.

If a scan fails — for example because the site was unreachable — you will see the reason and a Try again button.

Review what was found

  1. When the scan is complete, select Review what we found (or open the Review imports tab).
  2. Use the filter to switch between To review, Imported and Skipped items.
  3. Open Edit on any item to correct its name, description, category, price, currency, page URL or images. Your changes apply when you import.
  4. Select the items you want and choose Import selected, or import and skip them one at a time.
  5. If you skip something by mistake, find it under Skipped and choose Move back to review.

Items flagged as possible duplicates of something already in your catalog are marked so you can decide whether to import them again.

Apply brand suggestions

The scan also suggests brand details such as your brand name, description, colours, logo, social profile links, locations, audience and tone of voice. They appear under “Brand suggestions from your website”. Choose the ones you want to add to your brand profile and dismiss the rest — nothing is saved until you approve it.

Afterwards, open the Brand profile tab to fill in anything the scan could not find, such as marketing goals and your main calls to action. AI generation uses the description field as ground truth, so it is worth a careful read.

Keeping things up to date

Re-scanning is manual for now: select Re-scan on the Website connection card whenever your site changes. Scheduled re-scans and change detection are planned but not yet available. Anything you have already imported can be edited at any time from your catalog.
